For more information email the webmaster 8-25-05 Clayton Lake State Park has received a major facelift in recent weeks. The shelters have been upgraded, some sites have been moved to more attractive spots. Click here to see the pictures! That's not the only thing changing at the park, construction is now underway on the ultra modern observatory, which will include a retractable roof and a tv screen for all to view the sky's of Union County. 5-19-05 - The Clayton Lake Trout Derby once again showed what great commitment, organization and an enthusiastic community can do when put together. For the 5th consecutive year the Derby has exceeded all of our expectations. Fishing was great, the weather was absolutely perfect, and both of them combined gave Clayton Lake State Park the party feeling, with over 1,700 people turning up each day celebrating what is the pride and joy of the New Mexico fishing community. You can see many pictures of the weekends events here 4-15-05 - The annual Clayton Lake Trout Derby kicks of on the 7th of May, and runs until the 8th of May. Many excellent prizes are up for grabs, including $500, Golf cart, a boat and much much more!. Fishing season opened on March 1st and 16k trout have been put into the lake since opening day!. 10-19-04 - Fishing at the park ends on 31st October. 9-14-04 - ClaytonLakeStatePark.com has launched.
